Loot distribution

Posted by GrimmtungMay 27, 2009 at 1:50 pm
Firstly i'd like to thank everyone for the awesome progress we have made lately, everyone has been really active and totally up for the wipes that high end raiding involves! Just making a post to fill people in on some thoughts we've been having about loot distribution amongst other things.

Firstly, although this is something we wont have to immediately worry about right away, i thought i would mention it now so people can be prepared for it - hard mode loot. Due to the intensity of the hard-modes, once we do get around to nailing them, there will be certain priority given to people over who gets the higher item level gear. The particularly rare juicy 239 ilvl loots will only be given to people who have level 226 or above gear in the slot the item would be replacing. The reason we are doing this, is because we do not want people to feel like they are being punished for spending DKP on items, when there are better upgrades out there in the long run. As an extreme example, someone who has saved all their dkp throughout Ulduar, and sitting on a huge amount of DKP does not neccessarily deserve the current best-in-slot items, and without the others who have upgraded their gear previously and are perhaps a lot lower in the standings, the hard-modes would not even be possible. Just worth baring in mind when deciding on whether to take drops in the future.

Also, remember enchanting mats are always available from the guild bank, preferably befor/after a raid, and take whatever you want from gbank tab 5.

Raiding in Ulduar

The guild bank will keep making flasks for those who haven't brought their own to a raid. They will be charged out at a similar price to the one's on AH from now on. Not bringing consumables to raids, especially in Ulduar, is totally unacceptable, the differance betwen 10 people flasking and all 25 is immense. We will start tracking people a lot more from now on, those who don't bring their own flasks, those who die every single encounter from the same thing, will be replaced and will likely miss the next raid. It's not fair when the same people constantly bring flasks and people such as Drnik and Creato farm fish feasts. I hate to nag people but if the rules aren't followed we just won't progress fast enough. Same thing applies to enchants, as soon as you replace an item it should be enchanted and gemmed.

New Content!

Ulduar is finally here! Congratulations guys, were dead proud that we've progressed enough and stayed together long enough to make it this far. A special thanks aswell to the guys who have been with us since the start, hopefully we can really start to shine now the tougher content is upon us.

We now need to really get our hardcore boots on, and the next few weeks are going to be an interesting veiw on who's prepared to go the extra mile for raiding. Flasks are now mandatory for every raid, and we expect everyone to make a point of bringing their own, guild flasks will be available, but at a price (and probably a higher price than the AH). Most of the gbank's money is going to be spent on enchanting mats for you guys, as people are going to be replacing gear at a fast rate. Potions will also be available, but the supply may be limited as id rather spend the cash on cosmics/dust/shards.

As far as raiding goes, we will be sticking with our regular schedule for 25 man's. If we do have enough online between those days, then of course we will still carry on. As for the 10 man version, i would like to see a group of 10 rotating befor/after raids and on days where we arent running the 25 version. As tempting as it may be, please dont start a seperate raid ID, it will only cause problems, one is plenty for now, and everyone will get a turn.

Recruitment will stay open, as we forsee a lot of the less matured guilds struggling in ulduar, which will lead to their more experienced players looking elsewhere, so this may be a nice oppurtunity to recruit some fresh blood.

DKP will work on the same principal as befor. I have updated the DKP rules and rules and guidelines section of the site, which can be found here

Ulduar DKP is now on a seperate system, which can be accessed at www.annihilation-uld.tk

Cheers guys, see ya in Ulduar!

Next Step

With Ulduar fast approaching now its time to step it up another gear. From now on we are going to become ever stricter on specs, and consumables. People will be expected to attend raids with nothing other than a 100% PvE spec, and a flask on them at all times, afterall, if a flask gives a 5% boost to an individual, its a small increase, but if the entire raid is operating 5% more effectivly, its a huge differance.

We will still stock up on flasks and potions in the guild bank, however those will most likely be taken with an officer so they can be bought for a price, if people have turned up to a raid unprepared.

I agree that we don't NEED to flask for Naxx, but anything that makes it faster, and/or gives us a better shot at completing acheivements is worth the gold, and we would like to see everybody getting used to the idea befor Ulduar hits.

With this new initiative, we're also coming down heavy on slackers, turning up with the wrong spec's or no flasks, will result in DKP penalties, and not Naxx DKP, but Ulduar DKP. Repeat offenders will be kicked.

On the mention of DKP, we will be starting a seperate DKP for Ulduar, where everyone will be set back to zero. It will be the same system just a differant table. Any feedback and suggestions or changes you would like to see can be posted on the DKP forum, it will be a few weeks befor the system gets put in place so speak now or forever hold your peace.

On a side note i have created a thread in the rules forum for any new members to refer to, including must have add-ons and ventrilo info ect.

Also made the adress for this, and our dkp system a little easier if you wanna update bookmarks, if not the old adresses still work fine.

Trials and BoE loot

Posted by GrimmtungFebruary 5, 2009 at 1:27 pm
Just to clear up the confusion -

We've decided that the best way to handle trial members, is to give them a lesser priority in loot. They will get equal change to roll on offspec items, but members will get item priorities on items they need and willing to pay DKP for. As far as length of trials, if you prove yourself as a skilled player in the course of 1 raid, that should be enough, so expect trials to last no longer than a week - possibly two if your dps/hps/tps could be gear based.

BoE loot is something that is going to become increasingly helpful for the guild as a whole. Selling one BoE for a few thousand gold is a lot of potential potions and buffs for harder content in the future. Therefor if a BoE drops, and no1 wants to pay DKP for it, when people roll for offspec, an officer will roll alongside them for the guild bank.

Ongoing Recruitment

Posted by GrimmtungFebruary 2, 2009 at 11:32 pm
With our ongoing search for the shiniest of players to be introduced to our core, we're looking for the following -

- Enh Shaman
- Disc or Holy Priest
- 1 Rogue
- 1-2 Mages

A balance druid wouldnt go amiss either.

Please keep an eye out on any PUG heroics or Archavon you might take part in for anyone who fits the bill.

Are you ready?

Well tonight was an interesting test on those who are willing to go the extra mile - which is exactly what we want from this guild. Its all very well turning up and killing a boss while playing with your balls checkin out pop idol while you spam 1111111111, but its a whole other level having to concentrate on the encounter, and get everything on the button to get a boss down.

Tonight, a lot of people proved their worth taking Sartharion + drakes, and its exactly the attitude we're looking for. If wiping bores you, if going over tactics bores you, and if rehearsing the same encounter 30 times in 1 night bores you, then clearly this is not the guild for you. I (and many others in the guild who iv played with since vanilla content) have seen the situation many times befor, the frustration of wiping time and time again to get a boss down, and the feeling of it all being worthwhile when you acheive something only a handful do - and its this which drives a guild on to being successful in a very competitive environment. I know we have the members to do it, it just takes a bit of motivation and concentration to pull it off - this isnt the first time we've downed a boss after announcing 'OK last try guys'.

Naxxramas is a very small step in what it takes for progression in PvE, this is something some members know all to well, and something others have no idea about. Taking it from experience, the release of Ulduar will see 10 times the amount of wipes on 1 boss than we have seen in an entirity of Naxx, there will be gear checks, skill checks, and class/spec checks all along the way if this instance follows the billing it has got in comparison to Naxxramas. So if the premise of this is something you don't want, dont say we didnt warn you, because there will be no sympathy for whining and leaving early. The content we have currently is merely a proving ground for those we want to continue with us into further content, which is where the men from the boys will be separated, and we define our core - which will inevitably lead to the status a majority of us deserve and are used to - best on the server.

Fuck those other Vashj scrubs.
